Galium Aparine

(Galium Aparine) is better known in our country as Kollitsida or Cavallaria. This is a plant that prefers wet places and for this reason we find it near riverbeds and in pastures. The whole plant is useful.
Traditionally in Greece, the people used this herb to treat wounds and ulcers as well as for its anti-cancer properties.
In modern herbal therapy, Gallion is used by therapists to treat urinary tract infections and as a stimulant of the lymphatic system. In the first case, Gallium is considered to reduce fluid retention and is used to flush out sand and stones in the urinary tract. Its diuretic action is believed to be important for cleaning the entire urinary tract and is therefore effective in treating discomforts arising from inflammations in the urinary tract. In the second case Gallion is used as an antioxidant and blood purifier. Stimulating the lymphatic system, Calendula relieves swollen lymph nodes. The lymphatic system is responsible for removing toxins from the body. So Gallium is considered to be one of the best herbs for dealing with diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, acne and arthritis – diseases whose treatment requires detoxification of the body.
Gallium, due to its antioxidant action, is still considered a useful booster of the immune system. Vitamin C, chlorophyll and the flavonoids it contains contribute even more to this effect.

Consumed as a drink – add 2-3 spoons of the herb to a mug of boiled water and consume up to 3 times a day.
